Paris St Germain is being investigated by French prosecutors over alleged undeclared work, according to the Paris prosecutor's office on Tuesday. "Based on an initiative received on December 13, 2022, an investigation into undeclared work was opened on January 16, 2023," the office said. The complaint was filed by a Tunisian citizen, Hicham Bouajila, who, according to his lawyer Bertrand Repolt, claimed to be an adviser to club president Nasser al Khelaifi.
Bouajila claims he was only paid sporadically by the Doha Tennis Academy. In a statement, a spokesman for PSG's owners, Qatar Sports Investments, said Bouajila had never worked for the club. "We will no longer comment on completely bogus individuals who trade in disinformation and media manipulation,” the statement added.
Paris Saint-Germain will be able to welcome back Brazilian striker Neymar in Wednesday's Coupe de France clash against fierce rivals Marseille. Meanwhile, PSG manager Christopher Galtier told the press: "Renato Sanches is not available for the trip to Marseille, he is deadlocked. Marco Verratti, Neymar and Sergio Ramos are available. Nordi Mukiele has not trained with us yet but is progressing well."
